About

Gabriele Pezzoli lives in Locarno, in Southern Switzerland, and is a musician with wide-ranging interests. Pianist, composer, producer and teacher, he is co-founder of the collective BLUE2147 and active in several projects that cross the boundaries between jazz, improvisation and present-day music.

He has collaborated with French harmonica player Olivier Ker Ourio, Norwegian future-jazz pioneer trumpeter Nils Petter Molvær, Italian saxophonist Tino Tracanna and with relevant musicians from the Swiss, Italian and European scene, including Max De Aloe, Taavo Remmel, Kadri Voorand, Nils Wogram, Manu Gesseney, Domenic Landolf, Reto Suhner, Sara Oswald, the 'q3' collective, Nolan Quinn and Kety Fusco among many others.

For more than two decades, he has been active with his own piano trio, with the Lausanne-based double bass player Cédric Gysler and the Swiss-American drummer Brian Quinn.

PIANO TRIO

A classic format - piano, double bass and drums - that offers endless possibilities for renewal. A trio whose international debut dates back to 2006 with the album 'Improvviso' and has been continuously active ever since.

PIANO SOLO

Playing piano solo is one of the most stimulating, free and challenging experiences. The dialogue between the instrument, the surrounding space and the audience is unique and special each time.
